We are so pleased that we chose Manchester Doors to create our new front door.  Create is the right word, as this is not just a door, but a bespoke piece of furniture and a work of art. Alan was very friendly and approachable.

His passion and experience were clear from the offset.

Alan placed no pressure on us at all to ‘make a sale’, but he really did not have to, as having spoken to a few other companies, it was a ‘no brainer’ for us to choose Manchester doors. Alan gave good advice in helping us to choose the style of our door.

He worked with our ideas combined with his experience of what was achievable. His stained glass supplier provided a similarly professional and personal experience.

The workmanship that went into the finished product of the door was second to none. Our door provided the challenge of being hung in the old victorian door frame, so Alan and his fitter did not have a ‘straightforward’ fitting on their hands.

The finish of this door is fantastic, and has been fit into the old frame perfectly. We are exceptionally happy with our new door and it has really changed the look and feel of our house both inside and out.

Just want to say many thanks to both you and Darren for the superb craftsmanship and fitting of our new cottage front door that you’ve handmade and fitted for us.

You have fulfilled my wife’s wishes and vision of the door that she wanted for our cottage and we are both absolutely delighted with the end product as it as brought so much more light into the cottage.

Your dedication to customer care is second to none keeping us both informed with the design the making and then the fitting was excellent couldn’t fault you in any way.

Once again Alan many thanks delighted to have met and worked with you both and will recommend your services to anyone.

About Us

Our doors are made to suit your specifications, or to match existing, or to recreate the period feel of your house. We will work with you from design and manufacture, to complete fitting and can assure you will not be disappointed with the finished product. Below are some typical design styles.

Georgian Front Doors

Our Georgian front doors are of frame and panel construction, manufactured in the traditional method of mortise and tenon with wedges. Our classical design is the six-panel with two small panels at the top of the door with the middle and lower panels being larger in size. To compliment our Georgian door style we can offer traditional design fanlights.

Victorian Front Doors

Our Victorian front doors are again made from only the finest hardwood and softwoods. We can also provide beautiful stained glass panels in the Victorian style where needed. Our stained glass is made locally using traditional skills, techniques and materials.

Edwardian Front Doors

Our Edwardian doors are less elaborate, with less architectural detail, consequently the door design is simple elegance. These doors  were of a lighter design without the heavy mouldings. The stained glass used in the doors was replaced by clear textured glass to let more light in.

30's & 40’s Front Doors & Contemporary

These doors are far simpler and can have a nod to the 'Art Deco' design.  Contemporary style of today relies more on tongue and groove vertical design, perhaps with a full height glazed side panel.
